Pharmacogenomic Testing for People with Major Depression: A Study of Implementation Strategies
In this project, we will identify and describe in detail a small number of acceptable, feasible, and cost-effective potential implementation strategies for PGx-based care for those with MDD in BC. A key focus is which health care providers (HCPs) (or combination of HCPs) should deliver PGx-guided recommendations for people with MDD, and what is required to provide this care.
Key Research Activities
Stage 1: Identifying a range of implementation approaches, barriers, and facilitators
- Activity 1: jurisdictional scan and environmental scan of PGx implementation approaches
- Activity 2: public deliberation on trustworthy implementation of PGx for MDD
Stage 2: Developing feasible implementation strategies for BC
- Activity 3: healthcare professional focus groups
- Activity 4: clinical and data privacy expert informatics development
Stage 3: Refining and recommending implementation approaches
- Activity 5: simulation model adaptation for evaluating PGx implementation scenarios
- Activity 6: recommendation synthesis workshop
