We’re the Pharmacogenomics for Depression Team

Welcome to our website!

We are a team of people with different backgrounds and skills, including patient partners, researchers, and clinicians. Our research looks at a type of genetic testing called “pharmacogenomic testing” (or PGx for short). Our project is looking at the use of PGx testing in selecting an antidepressant therapy for major depressive disorder (MDD). We created this website as a hub for information about our work and about PGx in general.

About the Project – PGxIS

Our current project is called “Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing for people with major depression: A study of implementation strategies”, or PGxIS for short.

In this project, we will identify and describe a small number of acceptable, feasible, and cost-effective potential implementation strategies for PGx-based care for those with MDD in BC. A key focus is which health care providers (HCPs) or combination of HCPs should deliver PGx-guided recommendations for people with MDD, and what is required to provide this care. We have six different activities that will come together to serve this research objective. Learn more about the PGxIS project and all its components here. Find additional resources about PGx and depression here.
